Short-Season Friday: More Rain and More GCL Rehabs (Frank Frank!)

SSA: @ Auburn Doubledays (TOR) 4, Brooklyn Cyclones 3

Still no Gavin Cecchini – he’s on the DL with an ankle sprain.

C Tomas Nido was 2-for-3 to get his average up to .200/.238/.250 in 11 games. I’m not surprised at all that he’s struggled early in the NYP season. Now, can he adjust?

Robert Gsellman: 5.1 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 6 K. It would have been worse: Gsellman left the bases loaded for John Mincone, in his second year as a Cyclone, and he stranded all three runners.

R (App): Rained out.

R (GCL): GCL Nationals 7, @ GCL Mets 0

1B Dominic Smith left Friday’s game after one AB with “dehydration” according to the team. He is not playing Saturday.

Cory Vaughn DHed and was 1-for-4. He’s playing left in Saturday morning’s game.

Also on the rehab front: Frank Francisco (remember him?) made his first rehab assignment in the GCL. He gave up a run and a hit.
