Short Season Roundup: Cyclones win; GCL lose in their season opener

@ Brooklyn Cyclones 5, Aberdeen Ironbirds 4

Chris Hilliard earned the victory for the Cyclones, his franchise leading 11th career victory. Hilliard pitched five shutout innings, giving up three hits, walking two, and striking out three. This is Hilliard’s third tour in Brooklyn and he should be able to hold on to that victory record for a long time.

Daniel Muno continued to swing a hot bat out of the lead-off spot, going 1 for 3 with a triple and two runs scored. Muno, the Mets 8th round pick, is now 6 for 13 on the season and has scored a run in all four Cyclone games.

@ GCL Nationals 5, GCL Mets 3

After scouring the GCL Mets roster, there are not many household names on it.

17- year old Gabriel Ynoa (5 IP, 7 hits, 3 er, 2K, HR) got the start for the Mets.

Jeyckol De Leon led the offense with a 2 for 4 effort and two RBI.
