Daily Recap: Friday, July 18 games

Las Vegas 7 – Salt Lake 6: Right-hander Cory Mazzoni made his long-awaited Triple-A debut and pitched well: 5.2IP, 5H, 3R, 3ER, 2BB, 3K, 1HR. Wilmer Flores extended his hitting streak to 19 games with a pair of singles. Josh Satin, Danny Muno and Anthony Seratelli each homered. Satin added two more hits and is batting .316. Gonzalez Germen threw 1 1/3 innings of scoreless relief and hasn’t allowed a run since being demoted. Matt Reynolds and Kevin Plawecki both had the night off. >>Read more at MiLB.com

Trenton 6 – Binghamton 5: Dilson Herrera had a tremendous game with the bat, connecting on three hits, including his ninth double and driving in three runs. He’s now batting .350 since his promotion. Brandon Nimmo had another nice night batting in the leadoff spot, reaching twice on a walk and a single and scoring two runs. Tyler Pill got his first start after returning from a brief stint in Triple-A: 6IP, 6H, 2R, 2ER, 1BB, 3K. >>Read more at MiLB.com

St. Lucie 3 – Brevard County 4: T.J. Chism gave up a walkoff homer in the bottom of the 9th inning and was saddled with the loss. Taylor Teagarden continued his rehab assignment, going 2-for-4 with a run scored. Gilbert Gomez smacked his 12th double, which was the only extra base hit for the St. Lucie offense. Gavin Cecchini was removed from the game after one at-bat for what is being referred to as managers decision. >>Read more at MiLB.com

Lexington 1 – Savannah 5: Matt Oberste extended his hitting streak to 18 games with a 1-for-3 effort. He also reached base on a walk and is batting .321 this season. The Sand Gnats had only one extra base hit and it was a double from Champ Stuart, who was 2-for-4. Stuart was one of five batters in the Savannah lineup with a pair of knocks. Jamestown 12 – Brooklyn 7 (15): Catcher Adrian Abreu was 3-for-7 with a double and a run batted in. Amed Rosario drove in a run with a single. Jhoan Urena extended hits hitting streak to four games with a double. Jeff Diehl and William Fulmer had two hits each. >>Read more at MiLB.com

GCL Mets 0 – GCL Cardinals 1: The Mets managed only six hits, all of them singles. John Mora had one of the singles and has eight hits in the last three games.
