Fresno 7 – Las Vegas 5: Greg Peavey, recently promoted from Double-A Binghamton to take Rafael Montero’s spot in the rotation, surrendered six earned runs over four innings. He walked two and struck out four. Kirk Nieuwenhuis hit a solo home run. Brandon Allen and Zach Lutz each had two hits and drove in one. St. Lucie 5 – Lakeland 4 (11 innings): Steven Matz struck out eight over six innings. He allowed three runs, two earned, while walking none. Dilson Herrera drove in the go-ahead run in the top of the 11th inning. Herrera went 3 for 6 in the game. He now has nine multi hit games in his last 10 contests. Savannah 6 – Charleston 0: Kevin McGowan allowed just two hits over seven scoreless innings. He walked two and struck out four. Dominic Smith had two hits, but left the game after grounding into a double play. He had fouled a ball hard off his leg during his at bat. Jorge Rivero hit a two-run home run and L.J.
