Daily Recap: Sunday, July 27 games

Salt Lake 5 – Las Vegas 6: Right-hander Noah Syndergaard followed up his outstanding performance from July 22 with five more terrific innings Sunday. The 21-year-old limited the Bees to two runs (one earned) on five hits with eight strikeouts and two walks (one intentional). He’s allowed one earned run in his last 11 1/3 innings of work. Matt Reynolds launched a three-run homer in the 7th, which proved to be the winning blow. It was his second long-ball in as many days and his first two in Triple-A. Binghamton 3 – Trenton 7: Travis Taijeron was on base three times with a double and two walks. Jace Boyd had the only multi-hit game, going 2-for-4. Dilson Herrera was hitless in three at-bats, lowering his average to .345. Brandon NImmo had the afternoon off. >>Read more at MiLB.com


St. Lucie 3 – Daytona 4, game 1: Jeremy Hefner made his first start for St. Lucie after three rehab appearances in the GCL. The righty threw three innings, allowing three runs on three hits, with four strikeouts and four walks. The Mets scored all three of their runs in the 5th inning on rbi hits from Gilbert Gomez, Eudy Pina and Wilfredo Tovar. St. Lucie 5 – Daytona 6, game 2: Aderlin Rodriguez drove in two runs with a single in the 1st inning. L.J. Mazzilli has hit safely in six of his last eight games after going 2-for-3 with a walk and an rbi.  >>Read more at MiLB.com


Savannah 2 – Lexington 5: Yeixon Ruiz had the only multi-hit game, going 2-for-4 with a double and a run batted in. Matt Oberste tripled for his only hit of the day. Dom Smith was 0-for-3. John Gant gave up one run in five innings and was not part of the decision. >>Read more at MiLB.com


Brooklyn 9 – Lowell 3: Michael Conforto was 2-for-4 Sunday, including his fifth double and has hit safely in all nine games as a professional. Michael Bernal entered the game off the bench early and was 4-for-4 with two doubles and four runs batted in. Amed Rosario had a pair of singles and a run batted in to move his batting average to .299. RHP Marcos Molina gave up one earned run in six innings for his fourth win. 2014 7th round pick Brad Weick threw two scoreless innings in relief. >>Read more at MiLB.com


Kingsport 11 – Burlington 3: LHP Blake Taylor, whom the Mets received in the Ike Davis trade, threw 6 innings, allowing five hits and three earned runs, with three walks and three punch outs. The K-Mets offense pounded out 16 hits, 13 of which were singles. 3B Pedro Perez had the biggest day of the bunch, connecting on a pair of doubles and driving in three runs.
