Las Vegas 9 – Reno 4: 2011 4th round pick Tyler Pill had an uneven start in his triple-A debut. The right-hander allowed three hits and no runs in his first 4 2/3 innings of work before suddenly falling apart. With two outs in the 5th, he surrendering four runs on three hits and a walk and was pulled one out shy of qualifying for the win. Wilmer Flores extended his hitting streak to 15 games with a two-run single in the 5th. The last time he went a full game without a hit was June 26, his first day back in AAA after his most recent demoted. Gonzalez Germen threw two scoreless innings in his first appearance back with the 51s. Brandon Allen homered, doubled and drove in five runs. >>Read more at MiLB.com


Portland 3 – Binghamton 13: Left-hander Steven Matz didn’t allow a hit in his first four innings on the hill before giving up a leadoff double in the top of the 5th. He wound up surrendering three earned runs on four hits in 5 1/3 innings, with five punch outs and one walk. His double-A era stands at an even 3.00. Travis Taijeron had a big game, going 2-for-4 with a three-run homer and an rbi double. Xorge Carillo also picked up a pair of hits, including a double and drove in two runs. St. Lucie 1 – Bradenton 4: All six St. Lucie hits were singles. L.J. Mazzilli had two of them and drove in the only run. In the process he extended his hitting streak to seven games. Maikis De La Cruz also had a pair of knocks, pushing his hit streak to four games. Gavin Cecchini was 0-for-4. >>Read more at MiLB.com


Charleston 1 – Savannah 4 (8): Starting pitcher Ricky Knapp did a nice job on the hill, limiting Charleston to one run on four hits in seven innings. Dominic Smith had his four game hitting streak come to and, going hitless in two at-bats. Matt Oberste, however, was able to extend his hitting streak to 13 games with a 1-for-3 effort. 3B Cole Frenzel was a perfect 3-for-3. >>Read more at MiLB.com


Brooklyn 1 – State College 4: The Cyclones managed only two hits and didn’t score until the 8th inning. Catcher Tyler Moore tripled and scored the only run. Tomas Nido drove him in with a single and was 1-for-3. >>Read more at MiLB.com


Kingsport 4 – Elizabethton 6: Oswald Caraballo extended his hitting streak to five games with a 6th inning single. He’s batting .306 this season. 3B Pedro Perez launched his second homer of the year in the opening frame. >>Read more at MiLB.com


GCL Nationals 5 – GCL Mets 4: Dash Winningham had a big day at the dish, going 2-for-4 with a double, triple and two rbi. Milton Ramos was equally as impressive, smacking a double and a triple of his own in three at-bats. >>Read more at MiLB.com
