Daily Recap: Wednesday, August 27 games

Round Rock 3 – Las Vegas 8: Noah Syndergaard tossed 6 2/3 masterful innings, allowing one run on seven hits, with nine strikeouts and one walk. He painted the strike zone all night long, throwing 110 pitches, 80 of which were strikes. This is the deepest he’s gone into a start since throwing a season-high seven innings July 6. Also, the most strikeouts he’s posted since recording a season-best 10 on May 10. Kevin Plawecki remained red hot at the plate, going 4-for-4 with two home runs and two singles. He now has five round-trippers in 40 Triple-A games and has hit safely in 10 of his last 11. Matt Reynolds was 1-for-4 with three batted in. >>Read more at MiLB.com


New Britain 11 – Binghamton 7 (11): Brandon Nimmo was 3-for-6 with a pair of doubles and a run batted in. He now has a nine game hitting streak and 12 doubles since being promoted. Nimmo came into the night with a .372 OBP in August after a having a .355 OBP in July. Dilson Herrera was 1-for-5 with a walk. Travis Taijeron had three hits, including a double. Jace Boyd smacked his second triple and 22nd double of the season, as well as a single. Wilfredo Tovar was 3-for-6 with a rbi. >>Read more at MiLB.com


Charlotte 3 – St. Lucie 4: The Mets scored twice in the bottom of the 9th thanks to a fielding error. Gavin Cecchini had a big game, going 3-for-5 with a double and a run batted in. He had been batting .171 in his previous 10 games. Maikis De La Cruz singled twice and has three consecutive multi-hit games. Augusta 5 – Savannah 4: The Sand Gnats scored all four of their runs in the 8th inning. Yeixon Ruiz was 3-for-5, extending his hitting streak to six games. Dominic Smith was 0-for-4. Victor Cruzado doubled for the 13th time this season. >>Read more at MiLB.com


Staten Island 2 – Brooklyn 3 (11): 2014 1st round pick Michael Conforto posted his first four-hit game as a professional, going 4-for-5 with a pair of doubles. He has four consecutive multi-hit games and six in his last eight games. He’s 11 for his last 20 at the plate. Tucker Tharp was 3-for-5. Kingsport 4 – Elizabethton 8: The K-Mets were officially eliminated from postseason contention. Jean Rodriguez and Oswald Caraballo had three hits each. Caraballo extended his hitting streak to six games with three multi-hit games during that stretch. Wuilmer Becerra and Eudor Garcia were each 2-for-4. GCL Mets 7 – GCL Marlins 5: All 12 Mets hits were singles. Raphael Ramirez and Enmanuel Zabala had three apiece. Ramirez has at least one knock in eight of his last nine games. Natanael Ramos and Dale Burdick had two each.
