A-Ball Thursday: Nice Pitching. And a No-Hitter

A+: G1: @ Tampa Yankees 4, St. Lucie Mets 2 (7 innings)
@ Tampa Yankees 1, St. Lucie Mets 0 (7 innings)
In game two, Yankees’ farmhand Jose Ramirez no-hit in the Mets and was a walk and two HBP away from a perfect game. He’s 22 and pitched in the SAL in 2010 and 2011 and I confess that I remember very little about him.

3B Aderlin Rodriguez’s St. Lucie debut was very Aderlin: 1-for-3 with a double and an error in game one, and 0-for-3 in game two.

LHP Chase Huchingson in game one: 0.2 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 4 BB, 0 K. That’s now 42 walks in 79 innings this year 4.8 BB/9 rate and 12% of batters faced.

RHP Rafael Montero pitched very well in game two, but had no run support: 6 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 8 K. He’s allowed only 16 hits in 25.1 innings in advanced A with a K/BB just under three – 2.9 K/BB (23 K/8 BB).

LF Jason Bay was 0-for-3 with a walk and played all seven innings of game one, so he’s in midseason form.

A: @ Delmarva Shorebirds 3, Savannah Sand Gnats 2

RHP Michael Fulmer: 5 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 3 K. The three walks suggest he did not have his good control.
