AFL Quick Hits

– After leaving Monday’s game early after only two at bats, CF Darrell Ceciliani was back in the lineup on Wednesday, going 0-for-4 with a strikeout. He’s hitting .226/.306/.323 (7-for-31) in his nine games.

Cesar Puello played centerfield on Tuesday and Thursday, going a combined 0-for-7 with three strikeouts and two walks, one in each game, his first two walks of the AFL season. In 10 games, he now has a 13/2 K/BB ratio. Numberically, Puello’s K/BB ratio is the primary thing I care about in his AFL performance.

Greg Peavey threw two scoreless innings on Wednesday, he was 90-93 his first inning on pitch fx, and 90-91 in his second inning. I still think that’s a smidge fast. He’s fanned four and walked two in his seven innings. In the same game, LHP Chase Huchingson allowed three runs, all earned, in 0.1 of an inning thanks to three walks and two hits. That’s now eight walks in 4.1 innings in the AFL for the long lefty. Ouch.
