Friday 10:05 ET – RHP Chris Schwinden (0-0, 0.00) vs. RHP Jesse Chavez (0-0, 0.00)

Chris Schwinden had one forgettable start for LasVegas as a member of the Blue Jays system last year, when he allowed 8 ER in 3 IP, as part of a whirlwind summer for Schwinden who changed teams more often than some people change socks.  While with Buffalo he fashioned a nice AAA season with a 2.70 ERA and a 1.24 WHIP over 19 starts and 2 relief outings.  Jesse Chavez pitched for LasVegas last year going 8-5, 3.98 over 19 games (17 starts) after previously making one start in his minor league career, which began in 2005.

AA: Binghamton Mets (1-0) @ Akron Aeros (0-1) Listen
Friday 6:35 ET – RHP Cory Mazzoni (0-0, 0.00) vs. LHP T. J. House (0-0, 0.00)

Cory Mazzoni posted a 4.46 ERA and 1.36 whip over 14 starts for AA in the second half of 2012.  Featuring a Fastball / Splitter combo, his ability to remain a starting pitcher will depend on the development of his slider.  While pitching most of 2012 with Akron T. J. House went 1-0, 2.25 ERA in 3 starts against Binghamton.

Friday 6:30 ET – RHP Josh Hodges (0-0, 0.00) vs. RHP Domingo Tapia (0-0, 0.00)

Hodges and Tapia both spent all of last year in the SAL.  Hodges struck out 98 and walked 56 in 148 IP, while Tapia stuck out 101 and walked 32 in 108.2 IP.

A: Rome Braves (1-0) @ Savannah Sand Gnats (0-1) Listen
Friday 7:05 ET – RHP Mauricio Carera (0-0, 0.00) vs. RHP Gabriel Ynoa (0-0, 0.00)

As part of the deep Brooklyn staff last year Ynoa posted a 2.23 ERA, 0.93 whip, and a 6.4:1 K to BB rate.  Cabrera is the ranked the #7 Braves prospects by mlb.com after 12 starts in the Appy league last year, posting a 2.97 ERA 1.18 whip, averaging less than 5 IP/g.
