With St. Lucie being eliminated last night the Cyclones are the Mets only minor league affiliate left playing. They will play a best of three game series beginning with a home game tonight and then two on the road over the weekend.
Hansel Robles allowed 9 earned runs all year, and hasn’t allowed an earned run since July 28th. On July 3rd he allowed 4 of those runs to the Renegades in a game the Cyclones would rally to win after he left. 5 IP, 4 R, 7 H, 1 BB, 1 K. On June 27th he defeated the Renegades at home 5.2 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 0 BB, 4 K.
Brandon Nimmo lead the Cyclones offense .248/.372/.406 on the strength of 46 walks and 28 extra base hits. After Nimmo the Cyclones offense is very right handed which could play into the Renegades strength at the back of their pen
Jesse Hahn faced the Cyclones on July 17th 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 1 K. He has strung together a season of short effective outings as he has averaged less than 4 IP over his 14 starts. The 23 year old is in his first season of activity after being a 6th round pick in 2010. 3B Richie Shaffer lead the Renegade offense .308/.406/.487 while defensively they can be error prone up the middle with 55 errors between their three SS/2B men. (The Cyclones had 61 totals errors in comparison)
RHP’s Marcus Jensen, Dylan Floro, and Ryan Garton combined to go 14-2 with 15 saves over 61 relief appearances.
