Mets top prospect Travis d’Arnaud (pictured) returned to the 51s lineup for the first time since breaking a bone in his foot April 17. He Travis d'Arnaud caught all nine innings and finished 1 for 4 with a walk and run scored. Since starting his rehab for the GCL Mets July 24, d’Arnaud has 14 hits in 52 at-bats (.269) with five doubles and one homer. That includes six games in the GCL, seven in Binghamton and one in Vegas (although he’s no longer considered to be on rehab). With John Buck’s wife nearing the birth of a child, moving d’Arnaud to Vegas will allow the Mets to get him to Arizona quickly should Buck need to leave the team, which should happen soon.

Lucas Duda got his second start in left field for the 51s and reached base twice on a single and a walk in four trips. After walking four times Thursday, Duda’s been on base 19 times (11BB/8H) in 49 at-bats since starting the road back from his oblique strain.

I don’t know what’s gotten into 2B Brandon Hicks, but he’s absolutely on fire. After smacking a double and two homeruns Thursday, Hicks collected another homer (10) and another double (10) Friday night. He’s 6 for 11 during his current three game hitting streak.

Matt Fox got the start for Vegas and took the loss (5-4): 4.2IP, 5H, 6R, 4ER, 3BB, 2K, 1HR.

Notes: Ruben tejada was 0-3 Friday and 0-8 so far in the series….Kirk Nieuwenhuis was 1-5, 2B, 2K.
