Gavin Cecchini Promoted To Brooklyn

SS Gavin Cecchini, the Mets first round pick in the 2012 draft, is heading from Kingsport to the Brooklyn Cyclones.

The 18-year old Cecchini hit .246/.311/.330 with 12 extra-base hits, 18 walks and 43 strikeouts for the Kingsport Mets this year. Since returning from a broken pinkie on August 18th, he has DHed only. He has not played a game of shortstop since August 1. That leaves Philip Evans at shortstop for now for the Cyclones.
