Best news of the night is the solid start for Holt. even though it was only 4 innings, i’ll take it. definitely a step in the right direction.

also great news….the call up of Chris Carter. now all we need is to see Gary Matthews Jr gone (and Ollie P too, but i’m not holding my breath on that one).

I wonder if Carter having some success would make them think about dropping Tatis for a lefty bat option… They get stuck into these roles and make it seem like no one else can fill them, but someone else needs to be strapping on the catchers gear so Tatis’ spot isn’t locked in.

Actually Jacobs fits there very well, if only he could hit a little.

Sucks about your computer Toby. Hope you didn’t lose too much vital information and have all your personal info in check.

Can I ask why Tejada is batting in the 8 hole? You’d figure he’s a prospect you’d want to get more at bats at the top of the line up. My guess is that if/when they bring him back up to fill in for an injured Castillo/Reyes/Cora he’ll most likely be batting 8th so we might as well get him used to getting nothing to hit batting in front of the pitcher. I’d like to see him in a lead-off roll too, learning how to take pitches and work counts to get on base as well.

Since Toby is out of commission for the time being I’ll do a little summary of what happened.

    Buffalo – 6
    Louisville 7

In Chris Carter’s last night with the Bisons he hit a double, driving in 2 runs. He ended up batting .336 with 9 2b’s 6 HR’s and 22 RBI’s in 113 AB’s. In the last 10 games he has batted .400 with 4 HR’s 11 RBI’s 3 BB’s, 0 K’s for a OBP of .442 in 40 AB’s. It’s about F-ing time! Other batters were Jesus Feliciano RF was 3 -5 with 2 R’s and a SB; Hessman 3B was 2-5 with two 2b’s and 2RBI’s and Ruben Tejada going 4-4 all singles one run scored out of the 8 hole.

Pat Misch had a quality start going 6.1 letting up 3 earned (4 Runs total) with 7 K’s 2 BB and 6 Hits. Misch struck out the last batter he faced to start the 6th but reached 102 pitches. Bobby Parnell took over and let up the game winning HR to Luis Terrero his first HR of the year.
