Pascucci to be hitting coach for Sand Gnats and Full A-Ball Staffs

Pascucci Bisons HeadValentino Pascucci (pictured at right in 2012), who got a cup of coffee with the Mets in 2011 after a long minor-league career, will become the hitting coach for Single-A Savannah. Pascucci played in the big leagues with the Expos (!) and the Mets. Perhaps his finest moment, as far as this site is concerned, was his victory in front of his home fans in Buffalo in the 2012 AAA Home Run Derby.

Luis Rojas will still be the Sand Gnats’ manager, and Marc Valdes will be the pitching coach. The 2014 season will be the third for Rojas as the Gnats’ manager. Valdes was the pitching coach for Savannah in 2009 and 2010. He coached at AA Binghamton and SSA Brooklyn since leaving Savannah.

Last week, the St. Lucie Mets announced their field staff. Ryan Ellis will be back for his third year as the St. Lucie manager, to be joined by Phil Regan in his sixth year as the St. Lucie pitching coach and Joel Fuentes, in his first year with St. Lucie. Fuentes worked as the Savannah hitting coach in 2013.

So, the A-Ball staffs in table form.
