Josh Edgin has been optioned to AA Binghamton to make room for Shawn Marcum on the big league roster. No additional roster move has been announced for Binghamton but Mark Cohoon would seem to be the odd man out as he hasn’t pitched in two weeks and they will have 5 other lefty relievers on the squad.
Matt Packer faced Binghamton on April 6th allowing 5 runs (4 ER) on 9 hits. For the year he has struck out 6(!) and walked 9 in 20 IP, and is getting hit at a .309 clip and has been a part of 8 unearned runs to go with the 7 earned he has allowed. Akron has made 25 errors in 21 games.

After not pitching the last two years Bonderman signed a minor league deal with an invite to try to make the Mariners.
Collin McHugh‘s last start in Colorado Springs was a struggle which he wrote about on his blog. He gave up 12 singles of the swinging bunt, squeaking past infielders, duck-snort, and other funny things Keith calls singles variety. He didn’t walk a batter and gave up just one extra base hit, to excape without the L. On the season he’s struck out 18 and walked 4.
Kai Grounauer has returned from the DL, he is 0-2 on the season.
