The Cardinals chased RHP Persio Reyes with a six-run fourth that probably should never have happened. A groundball to second became an infield single, and a grounder to short became a fielder’s choice instead of a double-play. A slender 20-year-old, Reyes has a good arm: he was sitting 90-92 and can touch higher. He’s repeating the Appalachian League. I missed most of Reyes’ start because I thought the game started at 7 pm. First pitch was 6 pm. D’oh!
SS Amed Rosario: 1-for-4. (I’ll write much more about him, both at the plate and defensively this week, and will post video too.)
On a night when the Kingsport Mets did not start Champ Stuart or Bradley Marquez, the lineup after Rosario was a whole lot less prospecty.
