Sunday 2:00 ET – LHP Mark Cohoon (2-0, 4.35) vs. HP Caleb Clay (3-0, 2.17)

After starting the season in the bullpen Mark Cohoon made a return to starting five days ago throwing 4 shutout innings allowing 2 hits and no walks while striking out 3.  Caleb Clay has struck out 19 and walked 7 over 29 IP.  His last start was a win with a strange line as he struck out 1 and walked 3, but allowed just 2 unearned runs on 3 hits over 5.1 IP.

Sunday 4:00 ET – RHP Yeiper Castillo (0-0, 3.86) vs. RHP Domingo Tapia (2-3, 2.73)

Yeiper Castillo made his first start of the year six days ago, throwing 4 IP  of shutout ball allowing 2 hits and a walk while striking out 8.  On the year he has struck out 18 and walked 2, working 5 relief appearances previously.
After allowing a run on a hit batter in the 1st and then being stopped by the weather, Domingo Tapia gets a full four days rest for his 7th start of the year.  Tapia has struck out 24 and walked 14 this year, while in 4 home starts he has struck out 22 and walked 5, allowing just 17 hits over 24.2 IP.

Sunday 5:00 ET – RHP Matt Koch (1-1, 6.75) vs. RHP Sam Stafford (0-2, 6.00)

Todays game has been rained out, they will try to play two tomorrow beginning at 4 PM.

 

AAA: Las Vegas 51s (13-15) @ Sacramento River Cats (17-13) Listen
Sunday 4:05 ET – RHP Zack Wheeler (1-1, 4.80) vs. RHP Jesse Chavez (2-1, 2.70)

In his last start some mechanical corrections led to Zack Wheeler‘s best start of the year.  In 6.2 IP he allowed a run on 5 hits, struck out 8 and walked 1, the last batter he faced.  He has struck out 36 over 30 IP and walked 16 on the year, and after a previous no walk outing he followed it with a 6 walk outing.  Today we will see if he can start to string good starts together.
Jesse Chavez has struck out 23 and walked 5 over 23.1 IP.  Prior to last last start he spent a week with the A’s making three relief appearances.
