AA: Reading Phillies 3, @ Binghamton Mets 1
Reading Phillies 1, @ Binghamton Mets 0

Lets start in Game two where Collin McHugh delivered a fine effort: 5.2 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 0 BB, 7 K. The lone run he allowed came on a triple followed by a sacrifice fly. In 74.2 innings in AA this year, he has a 3.8 K/BB ratio (65/17) and just 63 hits, on his way to a 2.41 ERA in 12 starts. Whether he likes to hear it or not, he deserves a shot at AAA.

After a couple of days off, 3B Jefry Marte returned to the lineup, going 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI in game one, and 1-for-3 in the nightcap. The 20-year old is hitting .302/.366/.446 in AA in one of the most pleasant surprises of the 2012 season in the system.

Now that Matt den Dekker has departed for the Buffalo Bisons, Juan Lagares started twice in center field for the B-Mets. He was 2-for-6 in the double-dip and sit at .268/.318/.350 in 59 games in 2012.

The Bisons, who were off, welcome the Pawtucket Red Sox to town for four games beginning Thursday.
