Wednesday in AAA: Omar Quintanilla Helps the 51s Walk Off with a Win

ss Omar Quintanilla singed home 1b Eric Campbell in the bottom of the 9th giving Las Vegas a 3-2 win over the Sacramento River Cats at 51s LogoCashman Field.

Trainilng 2-0 going into the 7th inning, Quintanilla got the 51s on the board with a one out RBI double off Sacramento starter Justin Thomas. Las Vegas (7-7) tied the ballgame one out later when 3b Brian Bixler collected an infield single scoring lf Zach Lutz.

Carlos Torres got the start for the 51s and, despite a shaky 4th inning, had a nice outing. The right hander struck out a season high 10 in five innings on the bump, surrendering two runs (both earned) on seven scattered hits and only walked one. Torres lowered his era from 5.19 to 4.61.

Adam Kolarek made his first relief appearance since being called up from AA Binghamton April 15 and threw two scoreless frames, allowing one hit and walking a pair. Robert Carson (1-0) picked up his first win of the season after coming out of the pen to get the final out in the top of the 9th. The loss went to former Red Sox reliever Hideki Okajima, who gave up Quintanilla’s game winning hit.
