Zack Wheeler and Matt Harvey Land On Baseball America’s Top 100 Prospects

Two Mets made today’s Baseball America Top 100 Prospects: Zack Wheeler at #35 and Matt Harvey at #54.

The magazine’s comment on Wheeler:

Will have to pay Paul DePodesta to dress up like Dick Tidrow now that he’s a Met.

Tidrow is the Giants’ VP of Player Personnel. Fill in the blank: This joke is _______________.

On Wheeler:

He has the stuff to outperform recent Tar Heels alumni in a major league rotation, with the bullpen a good fallback option.

The A’s, Cardinals, Padres and Ranges all had six prospects on the top 100, but in the Rangers case, that includes Yu Darvish. The Mets were one of nine organizations with two prospects or fewer on BA’s Top 100.

Among NL East teams, the Braves led the way with four, the Mets and Nationals each had two, while the Phillies and Marlins each had one player on the list.
