Complete List of Fear Factory Band Members

Fear Factory have had fourteen official members since the industrial metal band formed in Los Angeles in 1989, and only guitarist Dino Cazares remains from the original line-up. The current line-up is Cazares, vocalist Milo Silvestro and drummer Pete Webber, with bassist Tony Campos on hiatus since 2023 and Ricky Bonazza filling in on tour. Singer Burton C. Bell was the only consistent member for 31 years until he quit in 2020.

The classic line-up, formed in 1994 and responsible for Demanufacture (1995) and Obsolete (1998), was Bell, Cazares, founding drummer Raymond Herrera and bassist Christian Olde Wolbers. Here is every member, with instruments and years as the band’s own member list gives them.

Dino Cazares – Guitars, Backing Vocals, Studio Bass (1989–2002, 2009–present)

Cazares, formerly of The Douche Lords, started the band with drummer Raymond Herrera. He was out of the band from the March 2002 break-up until April 2009, when he and Bell announced their reconciliation and a new version of Fear Factory. After Bell left in 2020 he became the last original member.

Milo Silvestro – Lead Vocals (2023–present)

Silvestro was chosen through auditions to replace Bell and was introduced as the new singer in 2023.

Pete Webber – Drums (2023–present)

Webber replaced Mike Heller in 2023.

Tony Campos – Bass, Backing Vocals (2015–present; on hiatus since 2023)

Campos replaced Matt DeVries in 2015. He has been on hiatus since 2023, with Javier Arriaga, Alexandro Hernandez and, since 2024, Ricky Bonazza substituting on tour.

Burton C. Bell – Lead Vocals (1989–2002, 2003–2006, 2009–2020)

Bell completed the first line-up with Cazares, Herrera and bassist Dave Gibney. He announced his exit in March 2002, when the band broke up, returned for the 2003 reformation, and came back again in 2009. In September 2020, less than a month after Cazares announced new music, Bell announced he had quit, citing what he called a consistent series of dishonest representations and unfounded accusations from past and present members.

Raymond Herrera – Drums (1989–2002, 2003–2006)

The founding drummer, Herrera played through the classic era and the 2003–2006 reformation. He and Wolbers were left out of the 2009 line-up and disputed it, having formed the band Arkaea during the hiatus.

Christian Olde Wolbers – Bass (1994–2002), Guitars (2003–2006), Backing Vocals (1994–2006)

The Belgian bassist joined in November 1994, met through Evan Seinfeld of Biohazard, and moved to guitar in place of Cazares for Archetype (2004) and Transgression (2005).

Byron Stroud – Bass (2003–2006, 2009–2012)

Stroud played bass in the reformed band from 2003 and again from 2009 until Matt DeVries replaced him in February 2012.

Gene Hoglan – Drums (2009–2012)

The Testament, Death and Strapping Young Lad drummer joined the 2009 reunion line-up and was replaced by Mike Heller in April 2012.

Mike Heller – Drums (2012–2023)

Announced on April 19, 2012, Heller of Malignancy and System Divide drummed for eleven years until Webber took over in 2023.
