Fans of Guns N’ Roses eagerly awaiting their 2021 summer tour across the UK and Europe will need to mark their calendars for next year. Due to ongoing pandemic uncertainties and logistical challenges, the band has officially rescheduled their highly anticipated dates to 2022. This guide is for concertgoers, collectors, and rock enthusiasts wanting the latest details on the rescheduling, what to expect, and how to make the most of the new dates.
1. Official Announcement and New Dates
The band announced on November 15, 2021, that their UK and European summer tour has been pushed to 2022. The new dates span from June through August, with key stops including London, Paris, Berlin, and Madrid. The rescheduling was made in coordination with local health guidelines and venue availability, aiming to ensure fans can enjoy the concerts safely. This official update is crucial for ticket holders who need to adjust their plans accordingly.
2. Why Was the Tour Rescheduled?
The primary reason for the rescheduling stems from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, which continues to impact large gatherings and international travel. Additionally, logistical issues, such as venue scheduling conflicts and band member availability, contributed to the decision. The band emphasized their commitment to safety and the desire to provide an optimal concert experience, which wouldn’t be guaranteed in 2021. For fans, this means a safer, more enjoyable concert experience in 2022.
3. How to Get Ticket Refunds or Transfers
If you purchased tickets for the original 2021 dates, most ticket providers, including Ticketmaster and Live Nation, are offering options for refunds or transfers. Check your ticket provider’s policies as soon as possible; many are allowing free transfers to the new dates or full refunds. This process is essential for fans who cannot attend next year’s concerts due to scheduling conflicts or travel restrictions. Always keep an eye on official communication channels for updates and instructions.
4. What to Expect from the 2022 Tour
The rescheduled tour is expected to feature classic Guns N’ Roses hits like “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “November Rain,” and “Welcome to the Jungle,” along with potential new material. The band has hinted at a renewed focus on their iconic stage presence, with elaborate production and setlists designed to excite both longtime fans and newcomers. Concerts are likely to be more polished and energetic, reflecting their experience and resilience after a challenging year off the road.
5. Changes in Tour Venue and Schedule
While most original venues remain the same, some cities have shifted dates to accommodate venue availability and local health guidelines. For instance, London’s Wembley Stadium date has been moved from July 10, 2021, to July 15, 2022. Fans should verify their specific tickets to confirm the new date and venue. The schedule now spans a broader time frame, providing more flexibility for fans across Europe to attend.
6. Impact on Fan Travel Plans
With the tour pushed to 2022, fans planning travel arrangements need to adjust accordingly. Airlines, hotels, and transportation services may have flexible booking policies, but it’s advisable to confirm these early. Many fans are using this delay as an opportunity to plan more elaborate trips or attend multiple shows in different cities. Stay informed through official band channels and local event pages for the latest updates on travel and accommodations.
7. Special VIP Packages and Merchandise
Guns N’ Roses typically offer VIP packages, including meet-and-greets, exclusive merchandise, and premium seating. These packages are expected to be available again for the 2022 dates, and fans are encouraged to purchase early, as they often sell out quickly. Ultimately, patience and preparation will ensure you get the best experience possible when Guns N’ Roses finally hit the stage in 2022.
How to Choose
When selecting which dates or venues to attend, consider proximity, ticket availability, and your personal schedule. Prioritize popular venues like Wembley Stadium or the Stade de France for a larger-scale experience, but don’t overlook smaller venues that might offer more intimate settings. Also, think about travel costs and accommodations—sometimes, attending a nearby show can be more feasible than long-distance trips. Finally, check the setlist and supporting acts, as these can influence your choice based on musical preferences.
