1. Tour Dates and Major Cities
Guns N’ Roses announced a 25-date North American tour kicking off on July 4, 2020, in Detroit, Michigan, at Comerica Park. The tour will span major cities including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, and Dallas, ending with a final show on August 16 in Vancouver, British Columbia. These dates are strategically scheduled to maximize fan attendance across key markets, making it a rare opportunity to see the band live in large venues during the summer. Tickets for these shows are expected to sell out quickly, so early booking is highly recommended.
2. Ticketing and Pricing Options
Tickets for the summer 2020 tour are available through official vendors like Ticketmaster and Live Nation. Prices range from $75 for general admission to $300+ for VIP packages, which include premium seating, exclusive merchandise, and backstage access. The band also offers a variety of packages, including meet-and-greets and early entry passes, providing fans with personalized experiences. Fans are advised to purchase tickets early as many shows are projected to sell out within days, especially for high-demand markets like Los Angeles and New York.
3. Venue Highlights and Seating Arrangements
Major venues on the tour include the Staples Center in Los Angeles, Madison Square Garden in New York, and American Airlines Center in Dallas. These venues are known for their excellent acoustics and large capacity, ensuring an energetic atmosphere. Seating options vary from general admission standing areas to reserved seats, with VIP sections offering the best views. For fans seeking an up-close experience, GA pit tickets are available but limited, so securing them early is advisable.
4. Setlist Expectations and Special Performances
Guns N’ Roses is known for their dynamic setlists that blend classic hits with deep cuts. Fans can expect staples like “Sweet Child O’ Mine,” “Welcome to the Jungle,” and “Paradise City,” along with selections from their 2016 album, “Not in This Lifetime.” The band occasionally surprises audiences with special guest appearances or rare tracks, making each show unique. Given the band’s history, fans should prepare for energetic performances and memorable moments that celebrate their legendary status in rock history.
5. Support Acts and Opening Performers
The tour features opening acts such as The Cult and Whiskey Myers, both of whom bring their own rock credentials to warm up the crowd. The Cult, known for hits like “She Sells Sanctuary,” will set the tone with their classic rock sound, while Whiskey Myers offers a southern rock vibe that complements Guns N’ Roses’ style. Attending these opening acts is a great way to enjoy additional live music and get your energy up before the main event.
6. Merchandise and Fan Experience
Official tour merchandise includes T-shirts, hoodies, posters, and limited-edition collectibles, often sold at the venue or online before shows. Fans can also participate in interactive experiences such as photo booths and exclusive meet-and-greets, especially with VIP packages. These memorabilia and experiences make attending the tour more memorable, allowing fans to take home a piece of the concert and relive the experience long after the show ends.
7. Travel and Accommodation Tips
Given the tour’s popularity, booking accommodations early is essential. Major cities like Los Angeles, New York, and Chicago offer a range of hotels, from budget options to luxury stays. Consider staying near the venue for convenience and to avoid traffic delays. Public transportation options are available in most cities, but renting a car or using ride-share services can simplify logistics, especially if attending multiple shows across different cities.
8. Health and Safety Measures
In light of ongoing health concerns, event organizers are implementing safety protocols including contactless ticketing, hand sanitizing stations, and crowd control measures. Fans are encouraged to wear masks when not actively enjoying the music and to follow venue guidelines for a safe experience. Staying informed about specific venue policies is recommended, as procedures may vary by location and state regulations.
9. How to Choose the Best Show for You
When selecting which concert to attend, consider factors like venue size, ticket prices, and proximity. Larger venues like stadiums offer an epic atmosphere but may have more generic sound quality, while smaller arenas provide a more intimate experience. Think about your preferred seating arrangement—whether you want to be close to the stage or enjoy a broader view from the back. Also, check the support acts’ lineups and set times to plan your night accordingly.
10. Why This Tour Is a Must-See
This summer tour marks one of the band’s most anticipated performances since their reunion in 2016. With a setlist packed with hits and new material, it’s a rare chance to see Guns N’ Roses in full force on North American soil. Their electrifying stage presence and legendary status in rock history make this tour an unmissable event for fans and newcomers alike.
How to Choose
Choosing the right concert involves considering your preferred experience—whether that’s a big stadium show or a more intimate arena. Ticket price, seating options, and location are practical factors, but also think about the support acts and setlist expectations. If you want the best overall experience, prioritize VIP packages or front-row tickets, but remember that general admission can often offer a more energetic vibe. Ultimately, select the show that aligns best with your musical tastes, budget, and logistical preferences.
