Fix Hardware Recognition Issue on Ryzen PCs Using Windows 11 USB

If you’re experiencing hardware recognition issues on your Ryzen PC, such as devices not showing up correctly or driver installation problems, using a Windows 11 USB to repair or reinstall drivers can often resolve these issues. This process helps reset hardware configurations, update or reinstall drivers, and eliminate software conflicts that cause hardware detection failures. Before beginning, ensure you have a Windows 11 installation USB drive ready, and back up any important data to prevent potential data loss during troubleshooting.

What You’ll Need

  • A bootable Windows 11 USB drive (created using the Windows Media Creation Tool or similar)
  • Keyboard and mouse connected to the PC
  • Access to BIOS/UEFI firmware settings
  • Internet connection (optional but recommended for driver updates)
  • Knowledge of your system specifications (for driver compatibility)

Step-by-Step

  1. Prepare Your Windows 11 USB Drive
    • If you haven’t already created a Windows 11 installation USB, download the Media Creation Tool from Microsoft’s official website.
    • Run the tool on a working PC and follow the prompts to create a bootable USB drive with Windows 11.
  2. Insert the USB Drive and Boot from It
    • Shut down your Ryzen PC completely.
    • Insert the Windows 11 USB into a USB port.
    • Power on your PC and immediately press the BIOS/UEFI access key (commonly F2, DEL, ESC, or F12) during startup.
    • Navigate to the boot menu and select the USB drive as the primary boot device.
    • Save changes and restart, booting from the USB drive.
  3. Start Windows Setup and Access Repair Options
    • Once the Windows Setup screen appears, select your language and preferences, then click “Next.”
    • Click on “Repair your computer” at the bottom left of the window instead of proceeding with installation.
    • Select “Troubleshoot” from the options, then choose “Advanced options.”
    • Opt for “Startup Repair” first to fix common boot and driver issues automatically. If that doesn’t resolve the problem, proceed to the next step.
  4. Reinstall or Update Drivers
