RATT, the iconic glam metal band known for hits like “Round and Round” and “Lay It Down,” announced the postponement of all their 2020 tour dates to 2021. This decision impacts fans eagerly awaiting live performances and concert organizers planning their schedules. In this article, we’ll explore what fans need to know about the postponements, the significance of the band’s decision, and how to make informed choices when considering rescheduled shows.
1. RATT Cancels 2020 Tour Dates Entirely
Due to the ongoing global health crisis, RATT officially announced that all their scheduled shows for 2020 would be postponed to next year. This includes major festivals and headline dates across North America and Europe. Fans who purchased tickets should expect refunds or options to transfer their tickets to the new dates. The band emphasized their commitment to safety and the health of their fans and crew as the primary reason for the postponement.
2. Rescheduled Dates Are Set for 2021
RATT has already announced new tour dates for 2021, with most shows rescheduled for late spring or summer. For example, their June 2020 appearance at the M3 Rock Festival in Maryland has been moved to June 2021. These new dates aim to give fans a chance to see the band perform live while prioritizing safety protocols. Fans should keep an eye on official band channels for updates on specific dates and venues.
3. Impact on Fans and Ticket Holders
Ticket holders for 2020 shows face uncertainty but are generally offered options such as refunds or transferring tickets to the new dates. Many venues are working with ticketing agencies like Ticketmaster to facilitate these changes. The postponement means fans will need to wait longer, but it also offers a safer environment for everyone involved. The band encourages fans to stay informed through their official website and social media platforms for the latest updates.
4. Why Did RATT Postpone Their Tour?
The primary reason for the postponement is the COVID-19 pandemic, which has led to restrictions on large gatherings worldwide. The band and promoters prioritize health and safety over touring in uncertain times. Additionally, logistical challenges and travel restrictions have made it impossible to hold the planned shows in 2020. RATT’s decision aligns with the broader music industry trend of postponing tours until it is safe to perform again.
5. How Will This Affect the Band’s 2021 Plans?
Rescheduling all 2020 dates to 2021 allows RATT to maintain their planned tour momentum and reconnect with fans. The band is optimistic about performing live again and has expressed excitement about the upcoming shows. They are also using this time to work on new music, which fans can anticipate in the coming months. The postponement ensures that RATT’s 2021 tour will be as extensive and energetic as originally planned.
6. What Safety Measures Are Expected at Rescheduled Shows?
While specific protocols vary by venue, fans can expect measures such as social distancing, mandatory masks, temperature checks, and contactless ticketing. Many venues are adopting enhanced sanitation procedures to protect attendees and staff. The band and promoters are committed to complying with local health guidelines to ensure a safe concert environment. Fans should review venue-specific policies before attending to be fully prepared.
7. How to Decide Whether to Attend the Rescheduled Shows
When choosing whether to attend, consider your personal health risks, local COVID-19 conditions, and the safety measures in place. If you’re in a high-risk group or uncomfortable with the current safety protocols, it may be best to wait for future tours. Conversely, if you’re eager to see RATT and feel confident in the safety arrangements, attending a rescheduled show could be worthwhile. Stay informed about the latest health advisories in your area before making your decision.
8. How to Stay Updated on RATT’s Tour Plans

Being proactive ensures you won’t miss out on the latest news regarding rescheduled shows or potential additional dates.
9. The Future of Live Music Post-Pandemic
The postponement of RATT’s 2020 tour reflects a broader shift in the live music industry. Expect more virtual events, limited-capacity shows, and enhanced safety protocols when concerts resume fully. Artists and fans are adapting to new ways of experiencing live music, with a focus on safety and innovation. RATT’s rescheduling demonstrates their commitment to returning to the stage responsibly and ensuring fans’ safety.
10. How to Make the Most of the Postponement Period
Use this time to revisit RATT’s classic albums like “Out of the Cellar” and “Invasion of Your Privacy,” or explore their live recordings.
