Stomach Disease Causes, Symptoms & Ayurvedic Remedies Explained

Stomach diseases can cause discomfort and disrupt daily life, but understanding their causes and symptoms can help in managing them effectively. Ayurvedic medicine offers natural remedies that support digestive health and promote healing from within.

Ingredients

  • Fresh ginger root – 1 inch piece
  • Turmeric powder – 1 teaspoon
  • Aloe vera gel – 2 tablespoons (preferably fresh)
  • Honey – 1 tablespoon (preferably organic)
  • Black salt – ½ teaspoon
  • Warm water – 1 cup
  • Fennel seeds – ½ teaspoon
  • Carom seeds (ajwain) – ¼ teaspoon

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ginger: Peel and grate the fresh ginger root to extract about 1 teaspoon of juice or finely chop it.
  2. In a small saucepan, bring 1 cup of water to a gentle boil. Add fennel seeds and carom seeds. Let it simmer for 5 minutes to make a digestive tea.
  3. Strain the herbal tea into a cup, discarding the seeds. Allow it to cool slightly until warm but not hot.
  4. Add the grated ginger, turmeric powder, aloe vera gel, honey, and black salt to the warm herbal tea. Stir well until all ingredients are fully mixed.
  5. Consume this mixture twice daily—once in the morning and once before bedtime—for best results over a period of two to four weeks.
  6. For added benefits, you can also take small sips of this tea after meals to soothe the stomach and improve digestion.

Tips

  • Use fresh aloe vera gel for maximum efficacy; if unavailable, high-quality store-bought gel can be used, but check for added chemicals.
  • Adjust the amount of honey based on your taste preference and dietary needs; honey can be replaced with jaggery for a different flavor profile.
  • If you experience acidity or discomfort, reduce the amount of turmeric and ginger or consult a healthcare professional.
  • Store any leftover herbal tea in a glass container in the refrigerator and reheat before consumption; consume within 24 hours for freshness.

Serving Suggestions

This herbal remedy can be enjoyed as a soothing tea throughout the day. Pair it with light, easily digestible foods like khichdi or steamed vegetables to support your recovery from stomach ailments. Incorporate Ayurvedic dietary practices for holistic digestive health and long-term relief.
