Paul Revere & the Raiders had forty members over their 56 years, from the band’s formation in Boise, Idaho, in 1958 to organist Paul Revere’s death in 2014. Revere led the band throughout, apart from a break in 1977–78, and singer Mark Lindsay fronted it from 1958 to 1975. The classic mid-1960s line-up seen on Dick Clark’s Where the Action Is was Revere, Lindsay, lead guitarist Drake “Kid” Levin, bassist Phil “Fang” Volk and drummer Mike “Smitty” Smith.
Here is every member, with instruments and years as the band’s own former-members list gives them: the classic-era members first, then the long-serving later Raiders, then everyone else.
Paul Revere – Keyboards (1958–1977, 1978–2014)
Revere formed the band as an instrumental combo called the Downbeats in 1958 and led it, with one year’s break, until he died in 2014.

Lindsay was the Raiders’ singer through all their hits, from “Like, Long Hair” (1961) to “Indian Reservation”, and replaced Terry Melcher as the band’s producer in the late 1960s. He left in 1975.

Levin played lead guitar on the breakthrough singles “Just Like Me”, “Kicks” and “Hungry” and the gold albums of 1966. He died in 2009.

Volk was the bassist of the classic television-era line-up.
